Timeless deco tips for your appartment

BEIRUTApril 9, 2017

Talking about deco trends… Did you know that the flagship color this season is a beautiful shade of green, named Greenery ? Well, that’s great but the issue when it comes to fashionable trends, is that they’re trendy… for a limited period only.

The author of that blog about lifestyle and home decoration says it in a clear and accurate way :

« Don’t rush out and buy foundational furniture in the “color of the year”! It’s only the “color of the year” for one year… »

So, why not have a look at a few timeless deco tips ? They will help you design your interior space in a way that outlasts the next few months.

Comfort first

First of all, focus on comfortable pieces of furniture, with classical, neutral fabric colors. That goes especially for armchairs and sofas, but also for carpets : an classical Iranian carpet will always do the job (just make sure the colors of the carpet match the colors of the room).

Think functional
Timeless design is at the same time simple and sophisticated. This style is one that is designed to be highly functional, yet not bland and boring, they explain on FreshHome.
So, to make your interior decor timeless, you have to create a functional space with furniture pieces that fit in the room perfectly. They should be neither too large or too small.
Avoid oversized couches, streamlined pieces, as well as too busy patterns and shapes.

Do feature the seasonal trends… but with small pieces
Decoration items such as pillows, throws or  even vases should be the ones that feature the seasonal trends. For example, this « Greenery » color we were talking about at the beginning of this article, should appear on your cushion covers. We dont recommend you use it to paint your walls.

Collect and display
Do you love beautyful trays ? Stylish hats ? Bring together objects from a same category and display them in one spot. It will make any room more stylish. (French style icon Inès de la Fressange said so).

Mix old with new, and humble with rare
Just because something is old doesn't mean it needs to be discarded, explains famous interior designer John Saladino, who pioneered a look that remains as fresh today as when he created it in the 1960s: a serene mix of classicism and modernism.

Keep all these tips in mind and you will never get it wrong when it comes to decorating your home interiors.
