“I Meet Myself in Stillness and We Breathe” (S.W Berry)

February 20, 2017

There is no doubt that yoga is a trend that' being followed in most parts of the world, due to its significant health benefits for the body and mind.

Yoga originated in India and is currently a preferred sport or mean of  comfort that helps getting rid of stress, while gaining agility. Yoga also helps getting rid of all diseases associated with stress, fatigue, and tension, such as: cardiovascular system disorders, high blood pressure, autoimmune diseases, depression, insomnia, and even back pain, neck pain, and bowel irritations. Yoga works to address the root and not the symptoms of these diseases.

Yoga controls breathing and pull it back to its normal rhythm. The basic rule here is to breathe deeply. When we take a deep breath of fresh air, a greater quantity of oxygen gets into our lungs, which decreases the intensity of tension and anxiety we feel.

When we get stressed, our body’s reactions become exaggerated. A soothing action is needed to interrupt the stressed response. Yoga is one of these successful soothing actions that manage and relieve stress.

How we exercise yoga is also very important to the success of the practice. It is necessary to remove any thoughts or preconceived expectations regarding our performance. Mental concentration is more important.

To feel the benefits of yoga, you need to practice on a moderate and regular basis. For example, you can practice 3 to 5 times a week for a quarter of an hour or twenty minutes at a time.

Our fitness level and health condition must be considered, before we start practicing yoga. You also need to find the level that suits you best: you mustn’t feel any kind of pressure while practicing. Don’t push yourself if you feel any pain. Take it easy on yourself and your body, it is meant to be a gradual process.

Regarding the ideal environment, try to find a comfortable and quiet place. A quiet place is actually the most important thing you need to begin a Yoga session.

In your home, find a moment when you can relax, a place where you can be undisturbed and without distraction coming from people around you. Turn your cellphone off; and make sure that no noise will come from any electronics.

So, as of today, we strongly suggest you take advantage of your time and wash away your body and soul of all the stress that gets out of the sediments and angst of the everyday life.

Wishing you a happy journey into the zen self.
